An iOS release is intended, but parts of it (push notifications in particular) are still on hold. A date we can’t keep is worse than no date, so there isn’t one.

Waitlists usually tell you nothing about what you’re waiting for. Here is the actual state of it.
The catalogue
381,000 species assembled, graded by how well each one is actually known, and wired so an unprofiled plant gets researched the moment someone adds it.
Identification and diagnosis
Photograph a plant to name it, or a bad leaf to work out what's wrong — both answering from the catalogue, both willing to say they aren't sure.
Homes, rooms and watering
Your space modelled as you actually keep it, with schedules that move with the real forecast rather than a fixed interval.
Herb
The assistant rebuilt to answer only from what we hold about your plants, and to refuse to invent a number it doesn't have.
Community and the marketplace
Posting and reading, plus the shop side: listings bound to catalogue records, orders split per vendor, stock re-checked at payment.
Release
Not done. Store listing, billing and the last round of testing are what stand between here and an install link.

What we actually do with it
- Your email address, and which page you gave it on. That's the whole record.
- It's stored once. Signing up twice doesn't make a second copy of you.
- The endpoint that takes it can only write. There is no way to read the list back out of the API.
- It isn't passed to an advertiser, a data broker, or an analytics product.

- When is it actually out?
- We don't know, and we're not going to invent a date to make this page feel better. What's left is the store listing, billing and a final round of testing. Join the list and you'll be told the day it's installable.
- Is there an APK I can sideload?
- No. Handing out an unsigned build of an app that holds your garden and your email isn't something we're willing to do, and an APK from a website is a habit nobody should be encouraged into.
- Will it cost anything?
- Not to use. The free tier is permanent — ten plants, thirty AI scans a day, the full plant library and weather-aware watering. Paid plans exist for more room and for chatting with Herb, and they aren't switched on yet either.
- Which phone do I need?
- Android to begin with. An iOS release is intended but parts of it are still on hold, so there's no date for it — and we'd rather say that than let you wait on a promise.
- What do you do with my email?
- Store it, once, and write to you when the app is out. It isn't sold, shared or handed to an advertiser, and the endpoint that receives it can only write — there's no way to read the list back out of the API.
- Will you email me about anything else?
- No. There's no newsletter and no progress-update sequence. One email, at launch.
- Can I get in earlier to test it?
- There's no public beta programme yet. If one opens, the people on this list are the ones who'll be asked first.
- How do I get off the list?
- Reply to the email, or use the unsubscribe link on it. You don't have to explain yourself, and we don't send a 'sorry to see you go' sequence.
